Overview

The Vietnam VEX Robotics National Championship 2025 is the country’s premier robotics competition, designed to inspire and engage students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The tournament gathers students from across Vietnam to challenge themselves, collaborate, and showcase their robotics skills, creativity, and passion for engineering and technology. It also serves as the national qualifying round to select teams for the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in the United States.
The VEX Robotics World Championship is an international robotics competition held annually in the U.S., officially recognized by the Guinness World Records in 2018 as the world’s largest robotics event. It is organized by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to sustainable STEM education. Each year, the event attracts over 100,000 participants worldwide. In 2024, Vietnamese teams made a remarkable mark at the Championship, with 6 out of 12 teams winning awards and ranking among the world’s top, significantly outperforming their results in 2023—only their second year of participation.
The Vietnam VEX Robotics National Championship 2025 aims to lay the foundation for future regional and international competitions, while also advancing Vietnam’s presence in the global robotics education community.
In the 2025 season, the focus shifts from merely emphasizing competition results to highlighting STEM education outcomes through robotics. The Alliance for the Promotion of STEM Education (SEPA) will collaborate with experts from the Center for Science and Technology Development (CENSTED)—representing the alumni community of STEM-related master’s and doctoral scholars from the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF). Established by the U.S. Congress in 2000 under the Vietnam Education Foundation Act, VEF aims to strengthen bilateral relations between Vietnam and the U.S. through educational initiatives.
Together, they will implement a comprehensive training and development program titled “Radiance of Robotics Education”, which includes:
Training and workshops for teachers on engineering design, technical notebooks, and programming.
Capacity-building sessions for teachers and volunteers to serve as referees and event organizers, enhancing the local ability to host robotics tournaments.
Inspirational exchanges and career orientation sessions for students and teachers focusing on STEM education.
Host Organization
The STEM Education Promotion Alliance (SEPA) is a non-profit organization committed to advancing internationally recognized, high-quality STEM education in Vietnam. SEPA places a special emphasis on supporting underserved groups, including students in rural and mountainous areas, girls, and students with disabilities.
SEPA is the implementing body of the initiative “Radiating the Power of Knowledge – STEM for Vulnerable Children”, which has trained over 10,000 teachers in 51 districts and supported the rollout of diverse STEM learning activities, benefiting more than 400,000 students nationwide.
In recognition of its inclusive efforts, SEPA received the Inclusive Technology Pioneer Award at the 2024 Multilateral Forum, presented by Samsung Vietnam, in coordination with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the National Innovation Center.
With a long-term vision, the STEM Education Promotion Alliance is committed to expanding access to STEM education for all Vietnamese students, especially those in disadvantaged areas, contributing to a sustainable and inclusive foundation for STEM learning in Vietnam.
VEX Robotics is a world-leading educational robotics platform developed by Innovation First International, designed to serve learners of all ages. It fosters creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills in student teams.
The STEM Education Promotion Alliance has adopted VEX Robotics as a global benchmark for its STEM Robotics Training Programs, reaching over 1,500 schools across Vietnam, particularly in rural and remote regions. SEPA has donated more than 30 VEX robotics kits to underserved schools and has pioneered the use of VEX Robotics for students with disabilities.
