Ms. Đào Thị Hồng Quyên – Founder of SEPA (STEM Education Promotion Alliance) – is one of Vietnam’s leading advocates for STEM education, guided by the philosophy: “Quality STEM education for all.”
Born and raised in a rural area of Vietnam, Ms. Quyên deeply understands the barriers that children in underprivileged regions face in accessing science, technology, and modern education. From her own lived experiences, she came to realize that science and technology are not just knowledge—they are the key to transforming lives.
She graduated with a degree in Biology Education from Hanoi National University of Education—Vietnam’s leading institution for teacher training. She later earned a Master’s degree in Genetics and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the same university, focusing on building a sustainable, equitable, and human-centered STEM education model.
With over a decade of experience in education, Ms. Quyên has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Power of Radiance Award (UNICEF 2023), Women of Community – L’OFFICIEL Vietnam 2024, and First Prize in the National Rural Youth Start-up Contest. She has also represented Vietnam in several international forums such as UNLEASH 2022 (India), the Australia–Vietnam Young Leader Dialogue, and was recognized as a Global School Advocate in 2023.
Through SEPA, Ms. Quyên has initiated and led impactful STEM projects including STEM for Vulnerable Adolescents, STEM for Rural Areas, and Mangrove Forest and Sustainable Development, with the goal of creating an inclusive, innovative, and empowering learning ecosystem.
She firmly believes:
“No matter who you are or where you come from – you deserve access to quality STEM education.”
